What is Activity Dependent Plasticity?
According to your life events, experiences, languages, emotions and your movement in space, the brain modifies the connectivity of the neural system in order to be the most efficient for the present moment and especially for the future. This is how the magic happens: a permanent behavior change, in your way of thinking and therefore of acting!
Neurons are the cellular unit that constitutes the nervous tissue, our brain, and together with other thousands of neurons form interconnected networks, whose activation is the basis of our functioning. A “neural network” is a connection between many neurons.
Synaptic plasticity is a particular type of neuronal plasticity that represents the ability of the nervous system to modify both structurally and functionally the relationships between neurons, called synapses. Modifications can strengthen or weaken the intensity of the synapse, create new ones or eliminate others Synaptic plasticity is the ability of these connections between neurons to change with each other, like a plastic that can be molded by an industrial machine.
In this case, the machine is our own intention and spiritual energy, to survive.
Activity-dependent plasticity is a specific type of synaptic plasticity that is due to the activation and remodeling of neural circuits whose stimuli are internal, intrinsic, and underlying cognitive functions such as learning, language, information processing, memory, behavior, and mental experiencing.
The effect of experience-dependent synaptic plasticity is based on the fact that the synapse can change the amount of neurotransmitter used at the arrival of the action potential, but also the size (in terms of synapses’ surface area) and finally the sensitivity of postsynaptic receptors, which are the receptors of the synapse placed on the neuron receiving the message.
The overall effect is an increase or decrease in the strength of the synapse and therefore a greater or lesser activation of the neuron that receives that single message. If the stimulus persists and these synapses are activated repeatedly, you will transform a functional change to a structural change. Connections between neurons are created or eliminated and this is how the magic happens: a permanent behavior change, in your way of thinking and of acting!

Synaptic plasticity extends to neurons that regulate movements in space and neurons that regulate the ability to feel emotions. With the combined action of body movement and stimulation of positive emotions, synaptic plasticity is amplified, thereby improving both cognitive and motor functionality. This synchronous activation of different neural circuits reinforces the cognitive affect with the body movement, improving cognitive functioning.
